Lubberline Labradors began in 1972 with the purchase of our first Labrador Retriever, a black female  simply called "Lubber".  The  kennel grew to hold blacks, yellows, and chocolates.  I have been showing competitively and successfully in the conformation breed ring since 1981. My late husband and I originally decided on Labradors since we were avid sailors, on an offshore Hinckley 42 sailboat, cruising the Great Lakes.  Labradors are excellent sailors, be it large or small craft!  Since we were  so nautically minded, you will notice that all of our dogs, with the exception of some imports, have sailing names, such as "Fantail", "Jackstay", and "Jib".
I breed first for temperament, striving to also combine the best of pedigrees, producing Labs that not only look typically "English", but also Labradors that are hunting companions as well as loyal family pets.
